The National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey is a one-day event to promote alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technologies, idle reduction technologies and other forms of sustainable transportation. The event is being held in multiple locations across North America, with events also scheduled in Germany and Mexico. Odyssey Day is focused on:
- Promoting cleaner, more energy-efficient, and smarter choices in transportation;
- Building awareness and enthusiasm for alternative fuel and vehicle technologies as viable options for consumers and fleets;
- Bringing together those in the alternative fuel and advanced-technology vehicle communities to build awareness and focus attention on the good work they are providing for the sustainable transportation cause; and

Showcasing local successes in the area of alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technology and idle reduction.
The Red River Valley Clean Cities Coalition (RRVCCC) Winnipeg Chapter hosts Odyssey day in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2008, Odyssey day included conference presentations, a networking lunch, a trade show exhibit, and an alternative fuel and advanced vehicle display.
